Children & Family Counselling
At Halo Journey, we know that family life isn’t always smooth sailing. Between busy schedules, growing children, changing relationships, and everyday stress, it’s easy for connection to slip away. Our Children and Family Counselling sessions are designed to help families rebuild understanding, strengthen relationships, and find new ways forward — together.
A safe space for big feelings
We believe every child and family is unique and so is the way they express themselves. That’s why our counsellors use evidence-based, creative, and age-appropriate approaches such as:
Online Art Therapy : creative expression through drawing, colour and art to help children communicate emotions that words can’t always describe
Play-Based Therapy & Storytelling: gentle, imaginative approaches that make it easier for children to open up and build trust
Strength-Focused Conversations : we focus on what’s working well to help families build resilience and positive change
Mindfulness & Emotional Coaching: practical tools to help kids and parents manage emotions and create calm at home
Collaborative Family Sessions: guided conversations where everyone’s voice is heard, helping families understand and support each other better
Whether it’s one-on-one art therapy or family sessions together, we walk beside you every step of the way - helping your family build confidence, connection and harmony
Helping your child thrive
Our experienced counsellors support children aged 5+ through to teenagers, working gently with parents and caregivers to create real change at home, school and beyond.
We commonly help with:

Helping children understand their feelings, manage impulses and build everyday coping tools that work at home and school.
-
Supporting children to feel safer, calmer and more confident when facing fears, big worries or reluctance to attend school.
-
Gently unpacking what’s behind the behaviour and teaching practical strategies to navigate overwhelm and frustration.
-
Helping children settle into new routines, transitions and family changes with reassurance and stability.
-
Working with parents and children to rebuild connection, reduce tension and create healthier ways to talk and listen.
-
Supporting children to develop friendships, social awareness and a stronger sense of self-worth.
-
Offering space for parents to feel heard while providing realistic tools to restore balance and confidence at home.
