Maks
Counsellor & Psychotherapist

A man with short hair, wearing glasses, a light-colored striped shirt, and an earring, smiling slightly against a plain beige background.

What I wish more people knew…

Self-understanding is more powerful than you think! The more we understand ourselves, the more authentically we can show up and contribute meaningfully to the world. I believe in the ripple effect - self-work may feel selfish, but it holds the power to transform families, communities, society and beyond.

Maks has over 2 years of experience working in mental healthcare. He has significant experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals as well as people with significant mental health conditions such as neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, C-PTSD, schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder.

Outside of therapy, Maks is a lover of adventure, often found in nature—by the beach, camping, hiking or riding his bike. He is also a keen reader committed to expanding his knowledge around psychology, mindfulness, and spirituality. Maks believes that life’s most precious moments come from when we slow down and appreciate the little things.

Growing up queer in a migrant family, Maks understands what it's like to feel marginalised and othered. His approach to therapy is guided by life experiences that have allowed him to honour and empathise with other people’s unique journeys.

The way Maks walks beside you

Maks is a trauma-informed counsellor and integrative psychotherapist who works with individuals of all ages who want to make sense of their experiences, rebuild trust in themselves, and move toward a more grounded, fulfilling life. He has a special interest in supporting people through significant life transitions and draws on person-centred, existential, mindfulness and metacognitive approaches, alongside somatic and experiential techniques such as IFS parts work, Focusing and Gestalt. Guided by attachment, Polyvagal and other developmental theories, Maks believes that while life transitions can stir uncertainty, grief and confusion, they also hold the potential for deep self-understanding and profound growth.

Maks strives to create a collaborative space that is safe and compassionate, guided by genuine curiosity and care. He aims to help people connect with their intuition, clarify their life story, and develop practical strategies for navigating life’s challenges with greater confidence and self-trust.
