Workplace Mediation, Online Anywhere in Australia
Something's gone sideways at work. Maybe two people who used to get along now communicate exclusively via passive-aggressive email. Maybe a whole team has quietly split into camps. Maybe a grievance has been lodged and nobody knows how to be in a meeting together anymore.
Workplace mediation is a structured, confidential conversation that helps people sort it out — with an impartial, AMDRAS accredited mediator in the room (or, in our case, on the screen).
We're Halo Journey Australia. We're fully online, we work 7 days a week from 6am to 10pm, and we don't have a waitlist. So if things are escalating right now, you don't have to wait six weeks for a slot while the situation gets worse.
What Workplace Mediation Is — And What It Isn't
Let's clear up the biggest misunderstanding first, because it matters.
Mediation is not arbitration. Your mediator does not sit in judgement, does not decide who was right, and does not impose an outcome on anybody. No verdicts. No rulings. No one gets "found guilty" of being difficult in the tearoom.
What a mediator actually does is create a safe, structured process where both people can be heard properly, understand what's really going on underneath the conflict, and work out — themselves — what a workable way forward looks like.
Workplace mediation is:
Voluntary — nobody can be dragged into it. Both parties have to genuinely agree to take part.
Confidential — what's said in mediation stays in mediation.
Impartial — your mediator is not on anyone's side. Not the employer's. Not the employee's.
Focused forward — we're not there to re-litigate 2019.
What we don't do:
We don't provide legal advice or legal representation. Our people are AMDRAS accredited mediators — not lawyers.
We don't conduct workplace investigations, HR investigations, or formal statutory processes.
We're not affiliated with the Fair Work Commission.
We don't guarantee outcomes. Nobody honestly can. What we do guarantee is a fair, professional, respectful process.
If you need legal advice or a formal investigation, you need a lawyer or an investigator. If you need people to be able to work together again, that's us.
Workplace Conflict Resolution — The Disputes We Mediate
Conflict at work rarely arrives with a neat label on it. Here's what we commonly help with:
Team conflict — two camps, one lunchroom, and a lot of tension
Manager–employee conflict — where the power imbalance makes a direct conversation feel impossible
Peer-to-peer conflict — colleagues at the same level who've stopped being able to work together
Communication breakdown — nobody's done anything technically wrong, but the 47-email thread is now the problem
Post-complaint or post-grievance repair — the formal process is finished, but the relationship is still in pieces
Return-to-work conflict — someone's coming back after injury or extended leave and it's awkward for everyone
Business partner and commercial disputes — co-founders and partners who need to either work together or part ways cleanly
Small business disputes — where "HR" is you, and the person you're in conflict with is one of your four staff
We also work with organisations directly, including small businesses, councils, community centres, schools and government health departments.
How Online Workplace Mediation Works
Step 1 — Separate intake sessions
We meet with each party privately and separately. One session each. Your employer isn't in the room. Your colleague isn't in the room. Nobody else is `~listening.
This is where you tell us what's actually happened, what you're worried about, and what you'd need for this to feel worthwhile. It's also where we work out whether mediation is the right process at all — sometimes it isn't, and we'd rather tell you that than take your money.
Step 2 - Step 2 — The joint mediation session (approximately 3 hours)
Then we bring all parties together, with your AMDRAS accredited mediator guiding the conversation. Structured, paced, and with breaks. Nobody gets shouted over. Nobody has to perform.
Step 3 — Where things land
If agreements are reached, we help you capture them clearly so everyone knows what was actually agreed. If they're not, you'll still leave with a much clearer picture of what's going on — and that has value too.
This is the bit we think matters most, and almost nobody talks about it.
Traditional workplace mediation usually means both parties in the same physical room, often before either feels ready. You arrive at the same building. You wait in the same corridor. You see each other in the lift. By the time the session starts, half your nervous system has already made up its mind.
Because Halo Journey is fully online, that whole layer of dread just... isn't there.
Your intake session is genuinely private — you're in your own space, not a shared waiting room
You don't run into the other party before or after
You can join from home, from a quiet room, from wherever you actually feel steady
If you need to step away for a breather, you can, without a walk of shame past everyone
Nobody's watching you walk into "the mediation room" and drawing conclusions
Geography stops being a factor — outback, coastal town, or the middle of Melbourne, it's the same session
For employers, there's a practical upside too: no room to book, no travel, no coordinating three diaries around a physical location, and far easier to schedule outside core hours so productivity doesn't take a second hit.
Feeling physically safe and unobserved isn't a nice-to-have in workplace conflict. It's often the difference between a real conversation and a polite stalemate.
Sessions run through a secure practice platform integrated with Zoom. All you need is a device, a connection, and a door that closes.
You Don't Have to Sit in a Room Together Until You're Ready
Workplace Mediation for Employers, Managers and Business Owners
You're probably here because something or someone has crossed a line. Productivity has dropped, someone's talking about resigning, or a complaint has been made and you can feel where this is heading.
Here's what mediation offers you:
Confidentiality. The conversation stays contained rather than becoming office folklore.
Genuine impartiality. Your mediator isn't there to back management. That's precisely what makes staff willing to engage.
Speed. No waitlist. Evenings and weekends available, 7 days a week — so you can act while it's still fixable.
A process before the formal one. Mediation is often the step that means a formal escalation isn't needed. We can't promise that, but it's a very common reason people call us.
Doing right by your people. Choosing to invest in a fair conversation says something about how your workplace treats humans.
To be clear about scope: we mediate. We don't investigate, we don't advise you legally, and we won't tell you who was in the wrong. If you need those, you need different professionals — and we'll say so.
Employee Dispute Mediation — If You're the One in the Conflict
You've probably been carrying this for a while. So let's answer what you're actually thinking.
-
Mediation is voluntary and structured. Nobody is put on the spot, and you're not required to agree to anything. You'll know what to expect before the joint session because your intake session comes first.
-
Your intake session is private and confidential. It's a one-on-one conversation with your mediator, not a report to management. Usually, a workplace will only require a copy of the agreement itself and the mediator will work with you to ensure that this is worded in an acurate way that you are still comfortable with sharing.
-
No. Impartiality is the entire job. Your mediator has no stake in the outcome and isn't employed by your workplace.
-
Not physically for the mediation — ever. Everything is online. And you're never put together online before you've had your own private session first.
-
Then think about it. Have your intake session, ask questions, and decide afterwards. Mediation you were pressured into isn't mediation.
You're also welcome to bring the emotional weight of this somewhere else — our Counselling and Psychotherapy team often works with workplace stress, burnout and conflict fallout.
